In the 1920s, as the world was recovering from WWI, people’s tastes were also changing to suit the times. Instead of the ornate style of the Art Nouveau era, they started leaning towards cleaner silhouettes and innovative techniques. One such technique was embedding gemstones into clear Quartz. We wanted to showcase our craftsmen’s expert technique and craftsmanship by having the Mandarin Garnet bezel-set into the custom-cut white Quartz, thus making it appear to float in mid-air.
